Training of Tibetan Herbal Medicine Doctors

Funding the training of Tibetan Herbal Doctors helps to keep the local medical tradition alive, provides an alternative medical resource that locals are familiar with for areas with no medical resources at all and provides a profession/vocation.
Traditional Tibetan herbal medicine has a long and distinguished history, is holistic, and is extremely effective in treating many complaints from arthritis, haemorrhaging, varicose ulcers, certain cancers and hepatitis to depression.
Heart of Asia has begun supporting the training of local young people as Tibetan Herbal Doctors and is now funding 3 young men to be trained in Tibetan Herbal Medicine for a year at Sichuan Provincial Tibetan School in Kangding.
£400 will pay for the annual cost of training a herbal medicine doctor at Sichuan Provincial Tibetan school in Kangding.
  • Ten people donating £40 annually will pay for this.
